Transforming Young Lives
YMCA DownsLink Group is a charity working to transform the lives of children and young people (16-24) across Sussex and Surrey.
They work to prevent youth homelessness and provide a home to over 650 young people every night, and reach a further 9,000 children, young people and their families through our other services such as, counselling, support and advice, mediation and youth work, so that all young people can belong, contribute and thrive.
Many children and young people experience extraordinary challenges and adversity that can prevent their lives starting well. The ever-increasing level of risk and complexity they face has driven their services to be needed now more than ever before.
The aptly named, ‘Second Chance’ is a hazy, golden yellow, hop forward, easy drinking Session IPA that has been developed to help raise awareness of YMCA DownsLink Group’s work to tackle youth homeless, whilst also raising funds.
£5 from every 30L keg and 10P from every 440ml can donated via Work For Good and used to help fund the running of their Youth Advice Centre in central Brighton.
YMCADLG will be using the funds to support their Youth Advice Centre in Brighton. They have seen a huge increase in the number of young people going there for support over the last 2 years, so additional funding for them is vital. They are also now running a food market there for young people which is great and we can’t wait to meet all involved and see where our funds will go.
Keep an eye out here for our latest activity with Second Chance.
